What should first-time know about
Newborn Babies?
After your baby is born, the first two months will be very difficult. You will find that taking care of a newborn child is an enormous amount of work, and you will feel as if you are tied to the baby 24 hours a day. You will suffer from a serious lack of sleep. Breast feeding will take up a lot of your time. For example, you may need to feed the baby every two hours around the clock, and when you do, the baby may nurse for an hour and a half at a time. It will take time for your baby to learn how to sleep quietly when he or she is not in your arms. Don't despair. After the first two months, things get a lot better. Moreover, as you take care of your baby, you will experience a new type of love, one that, previously, you could not even imagine. In the words of a friend of mine, Jamie, the mother of an 11-month-old girl: "Everything is so much easier, now that I understand the purpose of my life."
